This month’s creative club theme was  “Live”

Once again, the creative team assembled live in the flesh for tea, cakes and biscuits to discuss something we’ve seen live that has inspired us. Not your new favourite Saturday night tv show, but something you’ve actually had to leave the house to view that has left you amused, wowed, or simply left a lasting impression.

The session began with Michael talking about his admiration for Tifos. These large banners are rolled out in the stands before a football match by fans as a tribute to their favourite team. Sometimes these can make a powerful statement, but most of the time it’s a great way to build an incredible atmosphere. Here’s a recent shot Michael captured at St James’ Park.

Other live events that our creatives found inspirational were concerts and theatre shows. Mady talked to us about her love for Six the Musical and how she has become completely fascinated by the Tudor Pop Punk mashup, with its properly feminist feel-good history rewrite and brilliant popstar inspired costumes.

Another popular topic was immersive experiences. Eva recently went on a mind-altering trip, visiting the interactive illusions at the Twist museum on Oxford Street. Meanwhile, Amina was just around the corner in Tottenham Court Road at the Outernet, a four-storey 360-degree digital canvas that fully immerses you in spectacular simulations.

Adam also escaped reality as he stepped into the world of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at the Secret Cinema. Truly amazed by how it was just like living in the film; this wild experience had Adam dressed in a hospital gown, taking fake medication and watching staff drag “mental patients” out of the movie screening.

The end of the session was brilliantly rounded off with a guided tour of Milan as Steve told us all about the things that inspired him during his trip to Italy. From the beautiful architecture to art pieces, we were all ready to book our next flight before it was time to get back to work!
