This year we’ve had the opportunity to see our branding work for E-Xplorer come to life in its epic first season! And what an adventure it’s been…
Our journey with E-Xplorer started in 2020, with a goal to be the ultimate electric motorcycle championship, inspiring the next generation to free ride the world. Working alongside them we helped define their purpose, drivers and how it comes to life throughout their brand. Season 01 kicked off in Barcelona, Spain on the 13th May, then to Crans Montana, Switzerland in June and Vollore-Montagne, France in July. Finishing off the season with a double header collab event with Extreme E in Sardinia, Italy in September. And we were there to catch it all!
As we recover from the buzz of an adrenaline fuelled season 1. We’re looking forward to continuing the adventure every step of the way!
The day starts with a Sporting brief and a track walk. This provides the opportunity to discuss the race ahead, where the teams and riders can review the terrain and obstacles on the track before they ride.
To finish off the prep stage, before the riders get fully in gear, the teams randomly pick numbers for the Qualifying lineup. Riders then go into the paddock to get their game faces on – changing into their riding gear and prepping for warm-up.
Then the real fun begins. Teams race in qualifying based on their randomly selected line up, setting their fastest time in 3 laps of the course. The teams’ order from the qualifying leaves them with the advantage of selecting which lane they would like to choose when going up against someone who finished behind them, and also gives them an advantage at later stages in case of a draw.
From qualifying this goes to a round robin format of team v team, then into Quarter finals, Semi finals and Small Final to determine 3rd and 4th through to the final to determine the winners, and 2nd place.
High drama, high speed, close races and spectacular jumps were on display throughout, showing it’s possible for sustainable, electric racing to make its mark, without leaving a trace.
Race 4 & 5 will be hosted by Sardinia, Italy in a double header. And we’re looking forward to continuing the adventure every step of the way!
