Catch the Bus Month, a fantastic initiative by Bus Users UK, aims to highlight the many perks of bus travel and get more people on board. This September, First Bus was eager to join in because, for them, every journey is worth celebrating.

But how do we turn up the noise on Catch The Bus Month? 

By getting people to tap, shimmy, and boogie their way on board with a brand-new, catchy tune that strikes a chord with the community and showcases the amazing benefits of bus travel – and all the amazing places it can take you.

With a tight deadline around the corner, we didn’t waste a moment pulling together an infectious, 80s pop synth-style track. With our catchy bus-themed lyrics at the heart of the production, we had a song that perfectly captured our message and purpose. Collaborating closely with a producer, we invited a talented local singer to record our lyrics, turning it into a vibrant, catchy tune guaranteed to stick in listeners’ minds.

To ensure our song reached everyone, we paired it with a dynamic animated music video, featuring visuals that were as poppy as the track itself. Once the music video was finished and everyone involved was humming the tune non-stop, it was time to share the earworm across socials.

We rolled out the campaign across paid and organic social channels, featuring the full video and catchy chorus cutdowns.What made this music video unique was how it broke away from First Bus’ usual style. The fresh, vibrant energy was designed to pop on their social feeds, bringing a look and feel that’s new and exciting.

The campaign marked a fantastic achievement for First Bus, with group ticket sales increasing by over a thousand compared to the previous year. Our paid media delivered impressive results across multiple channels. Digital Display reached over 207,000 impressions and paid social saw even higher engagement with nearly half a million impressions.
